Finding Your Influence
Jessica has worked as a mid-level and functional leader in the global environmental and sustainability field for over 20 years. Leading initiatives and matrix teams in high-pressure, resource-constrained environments, she often felt overwhelmed, scattered, and ill-equipped for the role. And she saw too many of her colleagues, at one time full of passion and purpose, burn out. She wondered if there’s a better way. This led her to explore leadership development, get certified as a leadership and team coach, and work with her own mentor coach. She’s seen the power of coaching as a practical, action-oriented means to build influence, leverage teams and networks, and grow executive presence to get better results, with more ease, calm and joy.
Let’s Make the World a Better Place Together
Working together we’ll follow these steps:
- Get clear on your coaching goals and conduct or review assessments
- Establish a leadership development action plan
- Coach on the goals, with action between sessions to further you on your goals
- Finish with a plan to sustain your progress, post-coaching
Maybe you’re like Carlos.
Carlos was feeling too busy and overwhelmed at work. Not only was he leading a challenging team with a lot of new members, but he’d also been tapped to head a multi-million dollar organizational initiative. He felt pulled in a million directions and wasn’t sure where to focus and what to prioritize. He also felt his team was under-performing.
Carlos wanted some coaching to help him figure out how to approach his responsibilities, old and new, more strategically and to make the most of his team. But he wasn’t sure he had the time for it. He booked a free consultation call with Jessica and they came up with a plan to make coaching fit into his hectic schedule.
As a result of his leadership coaching engagement, Carlos learned how to think more strategically about his work and to understand what he should focus on and prioritize. He learned how to empower his team (both direct reports and the matrix team he was leading) to take on higher-level responsibilities and to grow as professionals. He felt more in control of his time and energy, and freer to focus on his core priorities. This gave him a new-found sense of work satisfaction and a better work-life balance.
